Valrie Walker Sanders receive Award of “Outstanding Georgia Citizen” appointing her Goodwill Ambassador of Georgia.

VALRIE WALKER SANDERS, FOUNDER AND PAST PRESIDENT OF GCAHC,
APPOINTED GEORGIA GOODWILL AMBASSADOR AND RECEIVES THE
“OUTSTANDING GEORGIA CITIZEN” AWARD
At the monthly meeting of the Georgia Caribbean American Heritage Coalition (GCAHC), held this past Sunday October 26, 2008, Valrie Walker Sanders, Jamaican born Founder and immediate Past President of GCAHC, received from Georgia State Representative Billy Mitchell HD 88 (D–Stone Mountain) the Award of “Outstanding Georgia Citizen” appointing her Goodwill Ambassador of Georgia. This appointment was made by the Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel, for her work with GCAHC. Ms. Sanders proudly accepted the Award on behalf of all the members of the planning committee. She is succeeded by Anthony Grant, Barbados born, who is also Public Relations Officer of GCAHC, and former Public Relations Officer of the Barbados Association of Atlanta.
The Georgia Caribbean American Heritage Coalition is a non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) voluntary organization that was established in 2006, and is part of the Commemorative Committee for Caribbean American Heritage Month of the Institute of Caribbean Studies in Washington, D.C. GCAHC is dedicated to serving the community by creating annual activities to acknowledge the service of Caribbean Americans to America; by helping to develop the cultural, educational, and economic interests of Caribbean American peoples; and to build bridges to different communities in Georgia.
